INTRO TO BURLESQUE w/Simone

We have everything you need to tempt your inner showgirl! Bring along your cheekiest girlfriends and shake off those after Christmas blues with this unique fitness dance class with a burlesque twist. A local performer will be teaching you all the basic walks, struts, kicks and turns as well as a mini-routine to get you well on your way to being a diva! Although there will be extras available for class use, bringing along stockings, boas or gloves to practice removal and tease techniques is a plus.

RESTORATIVE YOGA w/Ruth

Restorative Yoga is an excellent way to counteract the everyday stresses of living in the 21st century. This practice uses props and inner wisdom to create space for healing and renewal while relaxing the body in restful poses. Whether recovering from injury, illness, feeling fatigue or stressed, this is the practice for you. Spaces is limited!

YOGA & PILATES FOR HOCKEY PLAYERS & SKIERS w/Angela and Ruth

This class is designed for athletes focused on lower body stretching and for those who simply need a good, deep stretch. Therapeutic focus will be on the hamstrings, hips, quads and lower back to relieve tension created from skating, skiing, and an active lifestyle. Integrating Yoga and Pilates into your routine has significant benefits of promoting physical balance and strength throughout the body, increasing flexibility and range of motion to lengthen your stride, keep your joints safe and to help prevent muscle tears and injury. Through deep breathing and stretching, Yoga and Pilates also encourage qualities of mindbody awareness that can translate to your sport and enhance your overall athletic experience.

THERAPEUTIC YOGA FOR BACK CARE w/Vicki

5 Fridays, Feb 10 - Mar 9, 10:15-11:30 am.

$60. $50 for students. $45 for seniors. $14 for drop in.

This program is designed to teach people how to manage acute or chronic back pain. Through exercises in body awareness, breathing, relaxation and yoga poses, students will develop an understanding of techniques that meet individual needs and can be used on a daily basis to help manage persistent pain.
