Formerly the Yoga Door and Jade Yoga, Jade Wellness has been sharing yoga, pilates and other contemplative and expressive arts in the Algoma District since 2004. Located in the heart of downtown Sault Ste Marie, Jade Yoga is one of the largest yoga and pilates centres in Northern Ontario. We aim to create a non-competitive and welcoming atmosphere for everyone to come and discover his or her true potential. After moving to our current location at 677 Queen Street East in 2010, we are now able to complete our lines of service to include healing treatments. You can also find made in North America, eco-friendly performance wear and yoga/pilates props and media in our boutique.
We are located at 677 Queen Street East, downtown Sault Ste Marie, 2 doors down from Muio's restaurant and across from Sault Ste Marie Museum. We are highly accessible via car, bus, bike and foot! You can find street meter parking along Queen Street and also there is a 2 hour free parking lot at Brock and Albert behind the Museum within a 1 minute walk.
Jade, just like other precious stones, is hidden inside rocks and needs to be uncovered through polishing to remove all the rough edges and layers. It is our hope that through yoga and other forms of energy movements, you will be able to uncover the precious self that is always within. The green colour of jade echoes our intention to go green and operate consciously and mindfully.
It is our intention and goal to make conscious choices to minimize the negative impact to our environment. Therefore, we use only eco-friendly, low-VOC paint and bamboo flooring, which is one of the most renewable resources for flooring. We also incorporated a low-flow plumbing system, programmable thermostat and compact florescent light fixtures to save energy. In our day-to-day operation, we encourage the use of reusable items such as hand towels and mugs instead of the disposable options. All of the cleaning products used in the studio are plant-based or non-toxic.
